Town of Eagar Tree and
Shrub Program--Living Memorials
The
Memorial Tree & Shrub Program of the Eagar Cemetery Committee offers to the
community the opportunity to use the beauty of creation to memorialize the life
of a loved one, or you can make a donation to help beautify the cemetery. A
living memorial, which is dedicated to someone's memory can provide lasting
comfort and is a wonderful tribute of beauty and joy. The Committee can purchase
and plant a tree or shrub in yours or your loved one's name, for $50.00 Living
memorials are a wonderful way to remember your loved ones while enhancing the
beauty of our cemetery for all to enjoy. All trees and shrubs are placed within
the cemetery according to availability of suitable terrain and the Town of
Eagar’s Cemetery regulations. Cemetery personnel will give all plantings
reasonable care, but their survival cannot be guaranteed in perpetuity. Trees
and shrubs are guaranteed
for one year. Plantings will be made as weather and scheduling permit.
Each
memorial/donation will be identified via sign placement at our directory. A
Memorial Planting Certificate, suitable for framing, will be mailed to the
donor.

GRAVE SITE SPECIFICATIONS
Headstones and Footstones:
If a family chooses to place a headstone, they will
do this at their own cost in addition to our cemetery fees. You must contact the Town of Eagar prior to setting a
headstone, so it can be placed in the correct location.
If a headstone has to be moved, the Town of Eagar will not be
held liable for any damage to headstone.
Footstones are set at ground level and are preferred as they allow
for easier maintenance. Footstones
cost quite a bit less and will be part of each grave on the new south
section of our cemetery. The
fee for footstones is included in the plot fee for the new section.
In the old section, a fee of $75.00 will be charged for those who
wish to mark a gravesite in this way.
Plot and Grave Site Decoration:
In order to establish grass on gravesites and to
allow access for the sprinkler system and mowing machines, no rock,
gravel, wood, or similar type of ground covering will be allowed. No fences or barriers are allowed around plots or individual
gravesites. Flowers or
seasonal use of candles are allowed, and these are the responsibility of
the individual family. Since
the Town does not have a full-time cemetery grounds keeper, daily
maintenance of sites is not performed.
The Town will dispose of dead flowers, tattered flags, and articles
that blow from gravesites on an as needed basis.
The Town will determine the allocation of water at the cemetery to
handle drought condition that can occur in the area.
Those who personally maintain grave sites of loved ones may be
asked to not use extra water in addition to the automatic sprinkler
system.
Prior to internment, you will be asked to provide
basic information on the individual planned to occupy the site- Record of
Burial. The Town of Eagar
as part of the public record keeps this information.
If you have any questions regarding your cemetery
plot or gravesite, please contact the Town of Eagar at (928) 333-4128
